Trường Phổ thông Dân tộc Bán trú Tiểu học và THCS Na Son tọa lạc tại xã Na Son, tỉnh Điện Biên, một khu vực miền núi còn nhiều khó khăn với hạ tầng kinh tế, xã hội. Người dân địa phương chủ yếu sống dựa vào sản xuất nông nghiệp quy mô nhỏ, điều kiện sinh hoạt và tiếp cận dịch vụ công còn nhiều thách thức do địa hình xa xôi và điều kiện tự nhiên khắc nghiệt.
Hiện nay, trường phục vụ hơn 370 học sinh từ 11 đến 14 tuổi, phần lớn là con em các dân tộc thiểu số như H’Mông và Thái.
Với mô hình bán trú, công trình không chỉ là không gian học tập mà còn là nơi sinh hoạt của học sinh từ thứ Hai đến thứ Sáu, đóng vai trò quan trọng trong việc duy trì cơ hội tiếp cận giáo dục cho các em trong bối cảnh điều kiện sống phân tán và giao thông khó khăn.
Dự án nằm trong chuỗi xây trường mang tính dài hạn, được thiết kế theo dạng module có khả năng thích ứng theo từng địa điểm.
Tổ chức không gian theo dạng khối lớp học tuyến tính với mái dốc nhẹ và hệ hiên sâu chạy dọc mặt đứng. Hiên đóng vai trò lớp đệm khí hậu, giảm bức xạ trực tiếp và mưa hắt, đồng thời tạo không gian chuyển tiếp cho các hoạt động ngoài lớp học.
Tường gạch đất không sơn trát được lựa chọn làm vật liệu chính, thể hiện tính trung thực vật liệu và tận dụng kỹ năng xây dựng sẵn ở địa phương.
Việc để lộ vật liệu và cấu kiện giúp giảm chi phí hoàn thiện, đồng thời thuận lợi cho bảo trì. Thông gió tự nhiên và ánh sáng gián tiếp, kết hợp quạt trần và trần nhẹ nhằm đảm bảo vi khí hậu ổn định. Công trình hướng tới một mô hình trường học bền vững về xã hội và kỹ thuật. Kiến trúc phát triển từ điều kiện địa phương, kỹ năng bản địa và nhu cầu thực tế của cộng đồng sử dụng.

Na Son Ethnic Minority Semi-Boarding Primary and Secondary School is located in Na Son Commune, Dien Bien Province, a mountainous area facing significant economic and social infrastructure challenges. Local residents primarily rely on small-scale agricultural production, and living conditions as well as access to public services remain limited due to the remote terrain and harsh natural environment.
The school currently serves more than 370 students aged 11 to 14, most of whom are from ethnic minority communities such as the H’Mong and Thai.
Operating under a semi-boarding model, the campus functions not only as a learning space but also as a living environment for students from Monday to Friday. It plays a crucial role in sustaining access to education in a context where transportation is difficult.
The project is part of a long-term school-building initiative, designed as a modular system adaptable to different sites.
The spatial organization follows a linear classroom block with gently sloping roofs and a deep veranda running along the façade. The veranda acts as a climatic buffer, reducing direct solar radiation and wind-driven rain, while also providing a transitional space for activities outside the classroom.
Exposed earth brick walls are selected as the primary material, expressing material honesty and utilizing locally available construction skills. Exposing materials and structural components helps reduce finishing costs. Natural ventilation and indirect daylighting, combined with ceiling fans and a lightweight ceiling system, ensure a stable microclimate.
The project aims to establish a socially and technically sustainable school model. The architecture evolves from local conditions, indigenous skills, and the practical needs of the community.
